Is that LOOOOVE
in
 the air?

13.png

Nope, it's just methane!

For too long, we’ve been stuck in a toxic relationship with “natural” gas. It’s been hiding a dirty secret this whole time:

It’s actually methane.

Methane pollutes the air in our homes.

Methane raises our energy bills.

Methane makes climate change worse!

Spread the word! It’s time to end this toxic relationship and #BreakUpWithGas

Gas stoves are toxic partners!

Gas stoves release harmful pollution in our kitchens, including cancer-causing benzene.

Studies show that children who grow up in homes with gas stoves have a 42% higher risk of developing asthma.

The gas industry has known this for decades, but used tobacco industry tactics to mislead the public about the threat.

“Natural” gas is worsening climate change!

Gas is mostly methane, a climate super-pollutant more than 80 times as potent as carbon dioxide.

And it leaks constantly.

It leaks from fracking, from pipelines and even the appliances in our homes. Studies show that when these methane leaks are taken into account, gas is as bad as coal power for the climate.

"Natural" gas is expensive.

The price of wind and solar power gets cheaper, but the price of gas nearly TRIPLED last year, and we’re still paying for it in our monthly energy bills.

Meanwhile, the fossil fuel industry is trying to build more gas export facilities so they can sell gas internationally, which raises energy bills in the United States.

Let's #BreakUpWithGas in 2024!
